Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

If you had suggested a few years ago that the Nintendo DS would be the fastest selling console in history and its most successful game was a self-help puzzle game more popular with the elderly than traditional gamers many would’ve wondered whether your brain didn’t need rather more training that it was currently getting. Nevertheless, the original Brain Training game has sold over 6 million copies worldwide and remains in the UK charts more than a year after a its initial release.

This follow-up is meant to complement the original game, not necessarily replace it, and contains seventeen new mini-games, each designed to stimulate your brain in a different way – enhancing memory, improving concentration and generally giving your ‘noggin’ a tune up. As before the game is meant to be played in short, five to ten minute sessions each day, the mental equivalent of a quick jog round the block. The game tracks your progress from day-to-day and you can also play any of the mini-games against other people, whether they have a copy or not.

As before the mini-games are all played either by writing or drawing with the stylus (the DS is held vertically, like a book, while playing) or by voice recognition via the built-in microphone. The actual mini-games are a more varied and imaginative bunch than before, with such exercises as playing a short piano piece, completing maths equations and unscrambling words. There’s also a fully featured version of Sudoku as well, making this the perfect video game for people that don’t play video games.

5.0 out of 5 stars More Brain Training, 21 Oct 2007
Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
I ordered more brain training in the post a few days ago with a nintendo ds lite. It came yesterday and i am really enjoying the game.

I have played on the first one at my friends house and loved it and because my dad wanted me to have a brain training game i chose this because the first one is good, this is meant to be better and id never played big brains academy. I also chose it because of its great reveiws and because you can play music. I LOVE MUSIC.

I like it because you can play the keyboard (thats the best game so far that i have been on) and you can solve many maths and english problems. I also like how sometimes when you log on you are asked to draw pictures or write acrostics, then when everyone who has an accopunt has finished you can veiw them.

Being able to play sudoko is a great feature and the totourials are great for people who have never played the game. There is also a begginer and intemeadiate levels that have tips and hints. You can use cheat mode but i find it easier without because you can make lots of mistakes not just 5.

I am a child but still love the game, so do my brother, mum, dad, and cousin. I am going to see my nan tommorrow and im hoping she will like it too.

I recomend this game to everyone. WHATEVER AGE!!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than the first one!, 29 Jun 2007

Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
I have played the original Brain Training several times. I found that one to be better than all the other brain games allthough I did get bored of it after a while.

More Brain Training is much better as the games are a lot more fun,

One of my favourite games is th Masterpiece Recital where you have to play the keyboard in time with the music.

I think I will be playing it for quite to some time to come

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, but..., 31 Aug 2007
By Ahmed E Cohen (Cheddarshire) - See all my reviews
Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
Having used the first Brain Training game and found it slightly buggy in terms of voice and handwriting recognition, I have to say I found this version an improvement.
The games are more fun and more challenging and it does feel like a real brain workout.
However, Dr Kawashima is still as tedious as ever with making almost exactly the same comments he makes in this version as in the first. He's not that clever either as he says the days are getting hotter when it's cold outside! With all the millions they made from the first, surely they could have altered this aspect of it - along with the transport analogies (Plane, train, cycle etc) of how you fare on a certain game.
This apart, it's still worth getting if your brain doesn't get much exercise in everday life. It just might make it that bit sharper. Who knows?
