Product Description

Low-budget zombie horror. Five strangers are recruited to test a new virtual reality implant that will enable them to live out their wildest fantasies. Locked into a house where they are constantly monitored, they each live through the usual fantasies of sex, power and money. But when the virtual reality programme goes wrong, the five strangers find themselves fighting off hordes of flesh-eating zombies in a maelstrom of chainsaw-wielding violence.

Five strangers are brought together after being picked as the most balanced applicants for a revolutionary experiment. All they have to do is agree to have a small microchip implanted in the backs of their necks, an implant that will give them complete control of their surroundings, with the ability to create and mould their surroundings whilst the implant is linked to a computer. Agent Allen(Cy Henty) tells them that all they have to do is spend some time in a secure environment, in this case a shuttered house, in order to carry out their virtual experiment. The reward for doing this, a rather nice 100,000 pound paycheck once the experiment is completed. It all sounds too good to be true, and it is, as one of the party of five isn't quite so balanced, showing psychpathic tendancies and taking control of the experiment to their own twisted ends. Soon the experiment turns into a battle for survival in a house where absolutely anything can happen.
I bought this after watching Higgins' more recent horror film 'Hellbride' and enjoying it immensely. This is very low budget, but very high on ideas. It's incredibly imaginative and Higgins shows a real visual flair, despite the use of some really dodgy CGI. The scenes where the individual subjects engage in their own private fantasies are very entertaining, especially when events take a turn for the worse. I also loved the idea that the psychopath creates a flesh and blood person out of a memory only to find the object of lust disobeying them. The acting is very adequate with Henty again stealing the honours, just as he did in Hellbride.
If you can look beyond the limits the lack of budget have placed upon this film, and see a film of enormous creative potential and interesting concepts, then I would recommend this film to you. It's nice to see the spirit of the B-movie is strong, especially in the U.K. 4 out of 5
