CD Description

Sixth album by ska-punk legends Reel Big Fish. If you're a fan of the band, you know exactly what you're going to get -big, dumb, brassy punk tunes about drinking, partying and falling in love. Includes the tracks 'Slow Down', 'Will The Revolution Come' and 'Another Day In Paradise'.

5.0 out of 5 stars Back on track, 6 Jul 2007
By Craig Osborne (London, England, UK) - See all my reviews
To start off I really have the album unlike the other review and have listened to it several times and it is fantastic and is so far from Cheer Up, more along the lines of their album ES and Forces of Evil. For those not in the know, this is Reel Big Fishs first real album release since being dropped from their label last year and it clearly shows that they're happy again as their label tried to steer them away from the music they enjoyed playing (see Cheer Up!) and their more recent songs were pretty downbeat (see WNHTYNH). Now with that out of the way, here's the review.

This album is fun from start to finish and for any old RBF fan, the re-recordings towards the end of the album are brilliant and really compliment the songs with better production etc showing that RBF have been a band alway ontop of their game even if they have hit a rocky patch. Some of the themes of the songs are quite cliche such as getting drunk, partying etc but they're fun, happy and will get you moving so I guess it's not all bad. Song highlights include Party Down, My Imaginary Friend, Slow Down and a cover of Another Day In Paradise. The re-recordings of the older songs are brilliant liek i've said before and although Cannibal is an old song it was only released as a demo so it's like a brand new song and it's 1 of my favs on this album. Only downside to the album is 'Please Don't Tell Her I Have A Girlfriend', sounds almost exactly the same as 'One Hit Wonderful' but with a boring theme and is a fairly weak song overall. Not a perfect album by any means but it doesn't try to be, it is a fun, solid album that remains fun after repeated listens and to write and record teh songs within 3 weeks is fairly impressive, so pick up this album, you won't be disappointed (unless this is your first RBF CD of course).

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant!!, 17 Aug 2007

This is undoubtably an amazing part to the reel big fish collection. They remaster some of there old hits off of the less known "Everything Sucks" like they have done on previous albums but the new material is just as imperesive. Best song are Party Down, The New Version of You, Hate You and Cannibal. The dvd is different parts of them making the record and interviews with the band. Definitelly worth the money!

Not heard the album obviously. But, i did hear a few new songs live! Theyre great, still got their same style. Id say its the 'everything sucks' style with some 'cheer up' elements! Definitely gonna buy this one and you should too ESPECIALLY if youre a true fan!
