With new vocalist Jeff Jaworski onboard following the departure of Grady Avenell, Will Haven return with this their 4th album.

With such a ridiculously high calibre back catalogue, it would always be a struggle for the band to recapture the heights of their previous three albums, and Heirophant drops just short.

The new vocalist lacks the sheer power of Grady, even though the singing style isn't too dissimilar. The music lacks the enjoyable claustraphobia of WHVN or the sheer weight of riffs found on follow-up Carpe Diem, and is a little bit more experimental than previous works.

A good album by a sorely underated band, it only suffers because it doesn't reach the heights of their former works.
