The Data: UK-Info Pro V13 includes 29 Million Electoral Roll names and addresses,17 million Directory Enquiry listings and 2.3 million company records, with classified search facilities as well as detailed UK street maps and a route planner.

XSearch: With UK-Info Disk you can search by name only - no location is required. Search for neighbours and search for people by other known house occupants. e.g. John Smith that lives with a Mary Smith. If you're unsure of the spelling, use a wildcard (*) - just enter the first three characters and every permutation will be returned.

Electoral Roll Searches: Now in its thirteenth version, XSearch technology has continued to make UK-Info Disk one of the most powerful tools for locating individuals. Either enter the minimum criteria such as a name, street or town, or use our highly sophisticated proprietary search functions to refine your search.

Directory Enquiry Searches: In order to search for either a resident or a business, you must enter both a name and a location to return results. UK-Info Pro V13 includes 1,000 OSIS (telephone search credits) to search this database - helping you save on expensive 118 calls.

Business Searches: Search over 2.3 million business listings on UK-Info Disk, provided by Dun & Bradstreet. With classified search facilities, you don't even need a business name. Search by business description such as "plumber", with or without a location, and every plumber will be listed alphabetically.

Still one of the best tools for family history researchers trying to find living relatives. Unfortunately it also remains one of the most expensive, despite more and more people opting to have their details removed from the edited version of the electoral registers.

Basically the database is shrinking year on year. In some cases it is better to try to find an older version of the program as it contains more names. However, this also increases the risk of the information being out of date.

At this price, if you're only researching the odd name, you'd be better off using a shared version of the program (public library, local family history society etc)
