Product Description
This was a year that no West Ham United fan will ever forget. Crammed with incident; tragedy, nobility, infamy and heroism in equal measures, all taking part in the environs of E13. A team who had lost the FA Cup Final by the vagaries of the spot kick lottery made their way back from Cardiff in May 2006 in anticipation of a European adventure and another season in the top half of the top flight, where they belonged. Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano, two of Argentina's stars from the 2006 World Cup Tournament, decided that West Ham United was a club whose future they wanted to be a part of. Into this breach of despair, stepped an Icelandic businessman, Eggert Magnusson, a lifetime fan and believer in the club, a man who did not appreciate or understand the concept of failure. Changes were immediately made at the club. A new manager, Alan Curbishley, was appointed to turn things round. Rising from his mediocre early season form, Carlos Tevez slammed in a wondergoal free-kick against North London nemesis Spurs. Six further goals were to follow, as Hammers ended the season with an inconceivable seven wins out of their last nine games. The climax of a final day win at the home of Sir Alex Ferguson s Premiership Champions proved what no media clairvoyant had dared to predict... This DVD will allow you to enjoy an experience, the like of which you may never see again in your lifetime Watch now as West Ham United stage the Greatest Escape ever seen in footballing history!

5.0 out of 5 stars Are you watching Sheffield / Wigan? Ha ha., 21 May 2007

I've not watched this DVD yet but I'm sure it will be fantastic. West Ham United had been plagued by bad press and misfortune all season so it was fitting they ended the campaign in the knowledge that they can look forward to Premiership football again. It was a shame Wigan weren't relegated as well, at least West Ham United can look forward to watching them struggle again next season and an easy 6 points.

1.0 out of 5 stars No feeling, 2 Jan 2008
Not that great.
Matches too short ( about 3mins per match highlights )should had been a 4 set DvD.
No real background on any of the big signing, just a few lines, flashed up for a second and that's all.
Nothing mention about all the off-field troubles ( it was not a quite season off-field!! ).
There is one point when NOC ( our captain !! ) scores and looks so unhappy with it all.without being a West Ham supporter you would not have a clue why.
Where were the interviews from the fans ( so you could get a real feel of the depair ).
Media input from it all.
Other fans ( Wigan, sheff utd etc etc .)
No history of the struggle Tevez had scoring, but work rate.
The 4-3 defeat from spurs and Tevez first goal, and the real drama from that game, and what it meant to the fans and team.
The last ten games and a proper count down to D-day.
A look at our points and Wigans, Sheff utd etc after each games.
The real drama of last day thrills with as and our rival ( like sky does so well, switching from game to games updates ).just Tevez scoring against Man U, Man U having a few chances, whistle going then, West Ham players jumping up and down, then the end!!.
Where was the fans reactions to it all, where was our rival fan crying etc etc.
In all you was better of taping sky sport to get any real feeling to the Season.
Next time put some thought into it, make it a bigger DVD set ( fans will pay the money!! )or let a real fan of football ( or a West Ham fan) do the edit.
