3.0 out of 5 stars Great game (on PS2), 2 Sep 2008

Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
Scarface: The World Is Yours is one of the better GTA imitators. After all, Tony Montana is the perfect character for an open world game.
The game itself is also remarkably solid; voice acting (although not Al Pacino) is of a very high standard. Likewise for the plot, the opening section provides an alternate ending to the film, with the remainder spent rebuilding Tonys Empire.

The map itself isnt that big, but very easy to become familiar with. Theres lots to do; coke to be sell, turf to reclaim, property to buy. Although it sometimes feels like all work and no play.

Combat is brutal. Tony can shoot enemies in specific parts of the body. Seeing 'right nut' flash on screen as your target drops in agony is always funny.

On PS2 this was a great game, but the Wii control scheme has lost much of Scarfaces appeal. There are adjustment options in the menu screen, but using the Wii Remote to control the camera feels like a bad move. Firefights are clumsy, and I found Tony often faced the wrong way to where/who I was aiming at.
A great game, I just couldnt get past the awkward control scheme.

4.0 out of 5 stars GTA-em-up for the wii that's just great fun, 16 Aug 2007

Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
If you're thinking about buying this game odds are you're also wondering whether it will ruin any fond memories of the cult classic on which it is based. It doesn't. Tony's second roll of the dice in this game; rebuilding his empire and hunting down his enemies, makes for a refreshing narrative. After viewing the film I found it enormously satisfying to turn around and blow that sneaky assassin away!

Once you get over the initial plot details however, it will be a fairly familiar setup to anyone who has ever picked up GTA, with a few differences. Your dealings with the cops are pleasingly more realistic (avoid them, or you will nearly always end up dead), the mechanics of acquiring and moving on dirty money and drugs is actually quite fun, and most importantly- dish out enough well timed obscenities about your latest victim's mother and you will enter 'blind rage' mode. This is every bit as fun as it sounds and can make a real difference when employed at right moment in a gun fight.

There are some great set-pieces (such as Tony's return to freedomtown) which can be frustrating when you first encounter them, but oh-so-satisfying when mastered. The soundtrack's great but I do wish you could add your own tunes to the player as this could have been easily achieved. Tony is usually on hand to chip in a wide variety of naughty words when doing what he does, but if you do get bored try striking up some conversations with the fair (and not so fair) citizens of Miami.

There are some nice muzzle flash effects but not much else in the way of graphical eye candy, nor should you really expect it from what is a port of a 'last-gen' game. But, as stated, the gameplay is excellent and the control system is a breeze. Better, in my humble opinion, than GTA: Vice City, you should certainly give this one a look if you can.

The game itself is the same game that came out early last year on the playstation 2 however this version for the wii has been updated the controls are fun and something new. aiming with the wii remote is fun and easy also driving is very easy this game is fun if you enjoy games like gta. overall good fun would of been 5 star but has some last gen graphics but if you want top graphics buy resident evil 4
