Synopsis

Features the pilot episode plus episodes two and three of the popular TV series HART TO HART. Jonathan Hart (Robert Wagner) is a self-made millionaire, the owner of a huge corporation called Hart Industries, while his wife, Jennifer (Stephanie Powers), is a well-known freelance journalist. Their opulent household is rounded out by the Harts' loyal housekeeper and sidekick, Max (Lionel Stander). The glamorous husband and wife are constantly getting pulled into cases that challenge their amateur sleuthing abilities. They roam the world, mingling with the glitterati while constantly encountering crimes to solve.

I first met Robert Wagner in the earlier 1970s period when he was filming at Granada studios a T.V. play entitled CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF.
With his then wife Natalie Wood. and Laurence Oliver.
They where gracious enough to give me a few minutes of there time in between shooting schedules... I was a free lance Photographer at that time. And this was a news scoop for me.

Fourteen years later I was in Los Angeles on a fund raising charity
venture, and while I was visiting WARNER BROTHERS studio a well know TV series was being shot.... I refare to HART TO HART.

Taking the opportunity of endeavouring to get to see Mr Wagner again I approached a liason executive: who in turn got me a pass to get into the production area of the show.

This payed off for me: and before long I found myself sitting chatting to Jonathon Hart in his living room on the set with his wife Steffanie Powers, as lunch call had just been announced.

I reminded him of our earlier meeting in Manchester: many years before, and this broke the ice for me.... putting me on a good footing with this Hollywood super Star.
Little did I know that this would become the start of a long friendship, that eventually spanned 3o years.

Years passed by and it came to my attention that the HART TO HART crew where filming a final episode in London of this series: so after some investigation and a few phone calls I found myself down in London one summer afternoon, just adjacent to TOWER BRIDGE, where the final scenes was being shot with these Two Stars.
I spent four hours in their company along with Lionel Stander the faithfull Butler MAX in the series.

After which I drove back home up the M.1. motorway with a smile on my face at my accomplishment.

Several years past again and on another adventure; this time down in Corpus Christi. TEXAS. while on holiday, a special treat happened for me
its now Summer 1996.

While browsing through the local news paper: in the entertainments page I read that ROBERT WAGNER and his wife actress JILL.ST.JOHN. were due to appear in a one nite engagement at the SHRINE AUDITORIUM theatre, performing a play that they had been touring with: entitled " LOVE LETTER " when I read this my heart raced with excitment.

A few days later: I found myself down at the Stage door of the Theatre,
anxiously waiting for the Two Stars to arrive, this was about 5. p.m. on a Sunday afternoon, my waiting was short lived when a people carrier vehicle pulled up close to my standing position and out stepped R.J. Wagner followed by his wife.
Our eyes met instantly: and it was old friends re-union mode for several minutes, as we hugged each other, he was so suprised to see me in such a way out place: he was stumped for words momentarilly.

We eventually made our way into their dressing rooms: and I was treated like visiting ROYALTY.
They arranged for a seat for me front of the stage, and in the second half of this Two hour performance, which consisted of just 2 people on stage reading Love Leters to one another: Robert Wagner intoduced me to the Audience of 1500 people as a friend of his from Liverpool England.

What a thrill that was for me: and what a great man he is?

Before we said our goodbyes the Stars posed for a few Photographs displaying some VARIETY CLUB GOLD HEARTS that I had with me : this man certainly touched my heart in more ways than one,

He had a heart of GOLD in more ways than is imaginable.
