The new Ken Hensley effort Blood on the Highway in more ways than one has a feel of a retrospective of his own experience and life as a musician over so many years. The songs and their order show all sorts of ups and downs most musicians faced in the 70s both musically and comercially. Although it seems that at times there is a bit too much of everything on the CD (check out the package and the booklet), on the whole the album has a very good albeit a little sad feel. The songs on the CD ((This is) just the beginning, Okay, I did it all etc.) are of high quality ranging from melodic ballads to strong rockers. The last dance has already been published before but the a song has it's way here and is a true gem. It remins you what great music Ken Hensley has made both as the member of Uriah Heep and as a solo act.

The new album by Ken is his best solo work in a long time.

Each song is a chapter in the story of Ken's life as a rock'n'roll star in the 1970's as part of Heep.

The lyrics are very insightful, very meaningful and young musicians could learn something about writing beautiful lyrics from someone as talented as Ken.

Having great singers such as John Lawton, Glenn Hughes, Jorn Lande and Eve Gallagher on the album taking turns performing songs was a brilliant move by Ken.

I've played this album a lot since I bought it and it only gets better with each play.

Even though Ken has been in the music business for over 40 years, he can still rock and he shows it on this album.

Buy this album, you will love it.

This is by far the best ken Hensley cd for a long time.It flows from start to finish and does well in telling the story of life in a rock band. The addition of guest artits such as ex Heep singer John Lawton is a masterstroke.All in all its classic and should be in every rock fans collection
