5.0 out of 5 stars Gods are the Mission, 2 May 2007
By S. A. Mclean "sammaz" (Scotland) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This album is far and away the best album I've heard in about a decade. I am a long standing Mission fan and have listened to everything available but this just blew me away. The classic vocals and string arrangements mixed with a foreboding and broody start build into such an emotional rollercoaster of extravagant lyrics and arrangement that can only be the Mission. I can't wait to see this promoted on Tour this month.

5.0 out of 5 stars Have To Disagree, 14 Sep 2007
By Jo (Belfast) - See all my reviews
......with Mark Reed, whoever he is, somewhere in GB. I make no apologies for defending The Mission's latest album - it certainly deserves a less biased outlook than that of Mr Reed. Perhaps he may not have actually listened properly, or indeed understood. It comes across to me as an angst ridden SoM fan who never quite forgave Wayne for going off to do something much better, especially given the fact that he can of course actually sing as well! This can be heard on GIAB; and not only can he sing, but there is a total variation in the depth and tone as well. Unlike a certain other "singer" who is monotonous at best.

Sorry, Mr Reed - you sound a bit bitter and way too caustic. I have no problem with you stating your opinion of course, but I have to wonder when was the last time you heard the Mission perform live, for example? And at least, as has been mentioned before, they are still producing new material, if nothing else. Though, as far as I am concerned there is plenty else. This is the first Mission album where I have enjoyed listening to every single track - and I have all of their albums to date.

5.0 out of 5 stars God is a Bullet - Brilliant., 18 May 2007
By Ms. A. Bouch "you may know me as Nifty" (West Midlands UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
The Mission created a fabulous album with "Aura" and now they have pulled maybe their best rabbit yet out of the hat. Without repeating the sounds of bygone days the Mission retain some of their original sound and style in some of the tracks while also diversifying to provide a more rounded expose of their talents and willingness to move with the times.
Wayne Hussey's lyrics are as powerful and evocative as always and those who like to hear a guitar melody will appreciate the accompanyment.
This album does not dissapoint. Any Mission fan who lost the faith should try it.
