No, that's not a skin-tight pink costume -- it's her skin! She's Kekko Kamen, the dynamic denuded damsel who fights injustice in the buff! Fighting for Justice, Freedom, and the Naked Truth!

Review

"Kekko Kamen is a title that's definitely got appeal for several different kinds of fans with its campy style, the outright nudity and just the fact that it's from Go Nagai." -- AnimeonDVD.com

I run a bad/cheesey film night with my friends, and decided to have a look at this one - and we thought it was fantastic! It's very silly, and not too gratuitous, though you're guaranteed to have at least 2 naked women in each episode (there are 4 episodes) despite being an 18, the characters are smooth like Barbie dolls - even during Kekkos signature move there is nothing graphic (she jumps at her victim legs spread wide- an eerie light shines from her nether-regions) so we were quite comfortable watching this in a mixed group - it was wonderfully camp.
My favourite episode is episode two - Kekko must defeat the 'muscular monster' - however she finds his muscles so attractive she can't fight him :D

Kekko Kamen blends comedy, Nazis, sexual abuse and a heroine who likes to dish out justice whilst in the the buff.

The first episode introduces us to the ludicrous perverts who run a school which punishes students by sexually humiliating them - this involves the students being reduced to a state of undress so that their breasts are on show. The following episodes follow the same formula - students are punished, Kekko Kamen appears and fights a baddy - and that's pretty much it! There was a hint of some character development when the main student in the series forms a friendship with another, but this is quickly swept to one side to squeeze in a few more boobs and bums.

Kekko Kamen may be a masked nudist but there is no deep mystery to her other than 'who is she?' so you don't really care much about her or her unique spin on feminism. Such a show with it's crude elements should be grotesquely offensive but it's all camped up and presented as a silly farce, it's got more in common with Benny Hill than anything else!

In a nutshell: Athough there is lots of nudity in this series, none of it is graphic and any ultra-naughty bits and bobs are either obscured or simply blank on screen, this isn't hentai. Had I watched this 15 years ago I would have enjoyed this series, but as I write this on the cusp of turning 30 I have to say that I found very little appealing in Kekko Kamen, although her finishing move did make me chuckle. The initial joke works for a few minutes, but it's repeated throughout and loses any impact. There are no meaty stories or interesting characters to keep you interested, there's no substance.

A zany comedy which is not to everyone's taste but is generally harmless. Of its type, it's truly brilliant! Look beyond the bawdy humour and you have an incisive satire of the Japanese education system. The absurdist humour reminded me a lot of an X-rated 'Ranma' episode. The only troubling scene is in the teacher's lounge where the headmaster is being pleasured by young students. In today's political climate, the scene leaves a bad taste. However, taken as a whole, it clearly exaggerates the excesses of the headmaster (whom is a cartoon in himself).

The theme is really catchy, the characters are brilliant and it is truly laugh out loud funny! Highly recommended!
