Synopsis
Tyne Daly and Sharon Gless join forces as the title duo in this groundbreaking cop show from the 1980s. This series challenged gender roles while providing entertaining drama about two female cops. Daly (JUDGING AMY) stars as Mary Beth Lacey, a hard-working mother and policewoman. Gless (QUEER AS FOLK) plays her partner, Christine Cagney, a woman fighting crime and being single in New York City. Daly and Gless racked up a half-dozen Emmy wins between them for these strong characters who encountered more than just murder on the streets of Gotham. Cagney and Lacey also tackled issues such as date rape, racial prejudice, and abortion in its six-series run. Contains all the episodes from the first series.

A revoultionary series for women. Plots are entertaining. The relationships not just between Cagney and Lacey but all of the characters are watchable with a mixtue of humour, emotion and drama.

Rock on girls. more, more, more..... Not "just another cop show". See, women can carry a project. Great tv.

This is fabulous from start to finish. It's amazing how well the series stands up - brilliantly acted by Gless and Daly, fast-paced and in its attitude to the issues or working women, still all too relevant.

I can't see the point of splitting the mini-documentary over two discs, but it's fascinating. I can't believe how many times the series was almost droppped!

This is a quality product but, having bought the set legitimately, I'm absolutely enraged by the long, unavoidable anti-piracy tirade I have to sit through each time I load a disc. Hell, I'm not one of the guys they should be aiming this at! On top of that, there are trailers, but at least they can be bypassed.

But on no account let this put you off one of the finest series to grace our screens!

A dvd of Cagney and Lacey is long overdue and boy what wonderful trip down memory lane this was. It brought back so many wonderful memories of the way Cagney and Lacey portrayed women in the 80s to such a wonderful extent and the great supporting cast that I kept watching until 2 in the morning!!

I would recommend this to everyone and let's hope it's not too long before the next one comes out.
