My 4 year old son loves dressing up and I thought he would love a spiderman costume for his birthday. My instinct was to go for the classic 2 piece non-padded version but he had seen the muscle man costume on one of the other children at a party and had his heart set on it so I caved in and went for this one. It's a very good quality costume and when he has it all on he looks fab. Very realistic although fits him perfectly now at the age of 4 (tho he is quite tall for his age) - I doubt it will fit him in 6 months.
My main gripe with it is that it's just too hot for him to wear for very long. It's a 1 piece and I have to help him get into it - remembering to check he's been to the toilet first as it's not easy to get out of in an emergency.
The gloves were way too big for him so I had to "lose" those fairly quickly and the head bit won;t stay in place very long so we have to keep pulling it back over his eyes so he can see.
It could just be my child who doesn't get on with it but I think we would have enjoyed the simpler top and trousers more and after wearing this costume about 3 times and refusing to wear it to a superhero party, we have popped it in his bottom drawer till he has forgotten about it enough to sell it on.
