Synopsis

Tom Cruise stars as secret agent Ethan Hunt in all three blockbuster instalments of the MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE franchise, collected here. Based on the hit 1960s-'70s TV series, the films feature a raucous mix of spectacular chases, amazing stunts, high-tech gadgetry, and elaborate schemes. Set against a backdrop of paranoia and intrigue, Hunt and his Impossible Mission Force (IMF) traverse the globe, working to foil the plans of villains and terrorists. And as ever, it's a question of who's double-crossing whom?

4.0 out of 5 stars The newer the better, 25 Jun 2007
By B. Rutter "Slackbladder" (UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
With regards to picture quality the first MI film does suffer somewhat as it's an older film with more artefacts etc. It really does'nt shine on Blu-ray or HD-DVD for that matter.
MI-2 is better and is certainly more impressive than SD DVD, though it's not reference quality.
But MI-3 is certainly visually very strong. Don't mistake film grain for bad quality (grain is present in most films and replicates the movies theatrical showing) as the PQ is of reference quality.
The sound also improves with each film though there's no Dolby TrueHD.
If you like the films and have a PS3 or Blu-ray plyer I would still certainly recommend MI-3. As for 1 and 2 if you're a big fan then certainly but don't expect the quality to be quite up there with MI-3.

2.0 out of 5 stars JUST A DVD RIP !!!!, 4 Jun 2007
WOW....Blu-ray really does not get to flex its muscles on this pathetic excusen of a disc. The movies audio and visual quality is just an exact copy of the DVD release. Even the menu is exactely the same. Im just going to conjure a guess that paramount wanted to cash in on the bluray neche market and thought heck just throw the DVD on a Bluray disk. If you want a movie that shows off the bluray potential then go for a Movie like Casino Royale or Monster House.. Avoid this one until they try and cash in again and release an "ULTIMATE" edition...uuuuwwwwww
