Once renouned for their breakdowns and their scream filled tracks, Poison The Well, have undergone somewhat of a transformation, over their last two albums. Is this a bad thing? HELL NO!!! You can only use the same formula for so long, before it becomes stale.

Where as their previous album 'You Come Before You' displayed signs of growth and a more refined sound, it didn't abandon their trademark sound all together. More like combined a new sound with their old one.

One 'Versions' however, they sound like a completely new band. The distorted guitars are replaced with cleaner overdriven ones and the songs are epic affairs with more singing than ever before. This results in a truly astonishing album, that mixes hardcore and counrty music like never done before.

HIghlights include

1. Letter Thing - This opening track is probably Poison The Wells best ever song. Its a very fast punky number, filled with overdriven guitars and a killer drum beat. Vocally its also fantastic. - 10/10

3. Nagaina - A huge depature from their usual sound. This is pretty much an indie track, but with a fantastic bouncing verse, that eventually as the song closes out, leads to angry screams of frustration and a more sinister edge. 9/10

9. You Will Not Be Welcomed - Starts off with a huge sounding musical intro, before kicking into a subtle sounding indie verse. Then the chorus kicks in to reveal the most aggressively screamed song on the album and one of the best. 10/10

Even if you didn't like the 'old' Poison The Well, you'll love this. For me this band have raised the bar yet again. They have produced their best and most mature sounding album to date, not letting line up changes slow them down.

I love poison the well. I have all the albums and the ep. This album is more of the same from where You Came Before You left off. It's better in my opinion than that album though. It's faster and slower, with more melody. The lyrics are brilliant as ever. For some reason mine has already been delivered, although its not out for at least another week, but I didn't order it from amazon. All I can say about this album is that I love it. Hardcore rules and is more alive than ever, poison the well do it better and with more balls than the other bands and aren't hindered by line-up changes and record deals. This is true music. Buy it now!

I waited 4 years for this album, definitely worth the wait.

Standout tracks are all of them especially 'The First Day of My Second Life' and 'Breathing's For The Birds'.

Poison the Well's 'Versions' is a masterpiece.
