I heard of this record via a recent performance/interview on KEXP and was impressed enough to buy this on the strength of a that alone. I am glad of the (minor) leap of faith, these guys are clever, very clever.

The title track stands out as the best at the moment but i've only had a change to listen to the album once through so far. The quirky use of effected electric piano and synth treatments coupled with the often inseparable live and electronic drums makes this a very interesting record.

This is not and album of songs, but more a line of 10 tracks that move from A to B in a much more interesting fashion than if they were not there.

If you like the sort of atmosphere that only groups like GY!BE can provide and would consider a more rock approach to repetition, whilst mixing a raw electronic texture far beyond Arcade Fire's latest and approaching the genius of Goldfrapp, this is for you.

If you could not stand it when Smashing Pumpkins sacrificed riffs for luscious texture (as in Adore), or think that Bjork is just mad then you wont get this record.
Lymbyc Systym are nothing like the bands i have mentioned, nothing like anything most people will have heard before, but that is why I am already passionate about this album.

It's noise. It's music. It's Art. It's unspeakably brilliant.

They have a download of 'Truth Skull' on their own website, which is a good way to taste their sound. Alternatively you could subscribe to the KEXP performance podcast and hear them play a 1/2 hour set.
