To see Iggy pop perform live in concert is to capture the true essence of this performer. Of course Mr. Pop has produced some great albums but the real deal is in the live show where Iggy Pop burns brighter than a thousand suns. Audiences leave mesmerized weather or not they have seen Iggy live before. The countless bands that have adopted part of maybe more than a part of Iggy's performance have come and gone but Iggy is still out there doing what kids a fraction of his age cannot successfully portray. The Easy Action Boxed set series "Where The Faces Shine" (a reference to the front row of the audience and also a line from a Stooges song "Down on the street") will document one year at a time each live tour that Iggy has undertaken from his solo `come back' on the Idiot Tour of 1977 to his last solo shows before teaming up with the Stooges. As a matter of point from 1977 to 2000 there are only 3 years in which Iggy pop didn't play live! Fully authorized by Iggy, Easy Action is attempting to provide a solution to the many live Iggy CD's currently in the shops that are completely illegal. Volume One documents the return of Iggy Pop from 1977 to 1981 and sees Mr. Pop playing to audiences in Italy, Spain, USA and Sweden. Iggy's bands are also usually a trawl through some of the most rock n roll henchmen you can find with the likes of Brian James, Glen Matlock, Fred `sonic' Smith and Stooges Scott `Rock' Asheton and Scott Thurston making appearances too. Inside the box you are treated to the typical lavish full colour booklet adorned with totally unpublished photos all shot on tour. Throughout this aural treat you will find blistering versions of classic tracks like `Lust for life' , `Raw Power' , `Dog Food' `Search & Destroy', `TV Eye', `China Girl' `Nightclubbing'; 'Funtime', `One for my baby' along with some fascinating versions of `Fall in love with me', ` I need somebody', `Penetration', `Endless Sea' , `Kill City', `Beyond the law'.
