"Blue Hotel" was released in 1977, the group consisted of lead singer Noosha Fox, Kenny Young, Andy Roberts, Bud Beadle, Jay Gurden, Ann Odell, John "Rabbit" Bundrick, Glen Lefleur and Martin David.

The album includes the ultra rare bonus track `Pain And Pleasure' which is greatly in demand by Fox fans.

It's great to finally have this Fox album available again - but be aware that the audio quality on this is pretty awful. Of course it was recorded about 30 years ago so we can't expect pristine digital audio perfection, however this CD sounds like it's been made from a copy of the original vinyl album - complete with scratches, pops, wow & flutter and sibilance (remember them?). It might help the nostalgia effect but it's a bit disappointing when Cherry Red did such a good job of transferring the previous two Fox gems.

Firstly, I have to say that this is a great album. Fox are, and were then, greatly overlooked. Their first album remains a triumph by any standards. If the follow-up 'Tails of Illusion' was a bit more hit and miss, this the third and final album was definately a return to form.
BUT : DO NOT buy this cd if you are expecting the pristine sound quality of the first two releases.
This is merely a copy from vinyl. You can hear the scratches! Years ago, I copied my original vinyl album to cd and it sounds much better than this.
Maybe I should not be surprised as 'Georgina Bailey', one of the extras on a previous release was actually transferred from the soundtrack of a tv show and 'Pretty Boy', was transfered from the b-side of the vinyl release. I assumed this to mean that the original masters had been lost. However this can not be excused here, as digital master transfers of some this album's tracks were used on the 'Best of Fox' cd of some years back.
I was also disappointed at the sleave notes. They comprise almost solely of the reviews that the first cd received on AMAZON! Somehow I think they will not want to use reviews for this cd in the same way! Also, there's absolutely no imformation about the unreleased bonus track.
Oh yes, and all the tracks are in the wrong order.

After 20-odd years of CD production who'd have thought that anyone would dare to release an album that's 'mastered' from a 32 year old vinyl LP? Cherry Red have done this and the result is an abomination. You know those machines to put LPs onto CD? They're supposed to 'eliminate' scratches, pops and the like? Well, Cherry Red don't have one! This is just an LP put flat on CD. That they can do this without a word of warning is despicable. And Kenny Young should be ashamed of himself for letting the thing pass as well. Save your money as this is a disgrace.
