Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

A thinner design. A brighter display. Up to 24 hours of battery life. Just about the only thing that hasn’t changed is the name. The 2GB iPod nano puts 500 songs in your pocket.(1)

Look like a rock star

Your music says a lot about you. So should your iPod nano. A super-slim design says you always have room for music — up to 500 songs, in fact. Durable anodized aluminum says you won’t let the rough and tumble of everyday life ruin your groove.

Carry a tune (or 500)

Choose a 2GB iPod nano and add a soundtrack to your life. Just use iTunes to import your CDs, shop for songs on the iTunes Store, then sync them to iPod nano. Possibly the world’s coolest photo album, iPod nano holds up to 6,250 snapshots.(2) iPod nano plays audiobooks and podcasts from the iTunes Store, too.

Play more encores
Imagine what you could do in a day. Fly around the world. Watch two sunsets. Listen to your iPod nano. Up to 24 hours of battery life(3) means the hits just keep on coming. Whether you’re exercising, commuting, or rocking a road trip, iPod nano may just outplay you.

Light up the stage

While it can't stop the rain, iPod nano might make your day a bit brighter. 40% brighter, to be exact. Album art pops and slideshows stun on the iPod nano’s dazzling display. That means everything looks as good as it sounds.

Go on tour

Add accessories and your music stays with you at home and on the go. Of course, iPod nano itself makes a great accessory. Wear up to 500 songs around your neck. Run with up to five days of skip-free music on your arm. iPod nano is the new black (and pink and blue and green and silver).

1. Song capacity based on 4 minutes per song and 128-Kbps AAC encoding; actual capacity varies by content. 1GB = 1 billion bytes; actual formatted capacity less.
2. Photo capacity based on iPod-viewable photos transferred from iTunes.
3. Up to 24 hours of battery life refers to music playback. Rechargeable batteries have a limited number of charge cycles and may eventually need to be replaced. Battery life and number of charge cycles vary by use and settings. See www.apple.com/batteries for more information.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best things come in small packages!, 13 April 2007
By K. Cradock (UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
To start with, I was shocked at how small the box that it came in was! And then how small the ipod was itself! It's amazing! As soon as it arrived I got it out the box and started charging it and putting all my songs on it. There was no faffing about at all and each song took probably less than an second to be put on the nano - it's speed definately impressed me as I used to use sonicstage with my minidisc player and it took forever! itunes is a very uncomplicated programme and is so easy to use. The only downside to the nano is the lack of mains charger but they are quite cheaply and readily available.
Overall, I love my ipod nano. If you are thinking about upgrading from your old mp3 player/minidisc/whatever it is definately worth the investment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Little Silver Star, 25 April 2007
By Mrs. C. L. Elgerton (UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I've had other mp3 players before but always wanted an I pod and finally bit the bullet and brougt one and can honestly say I'm not disappointed. Its easy to use and upload songs to i've got to the point where i have loads of memory left and no more songs to upload. The games on there are good to get you through board times as well as your favourite tunes. The only down side is it doesn't come with a mains charger but can be picked up cheaply to save keep turning your computer on.

It's sleek and lightweight design is great for the gym. I also brought a case for mine to protect the screen but there are loads of accessories out there to personalise it, and an added bonus is I can buy dock speakers for it so me and my husband can listen to our favourite songs while on holiday. Great sound quality just have to be careful nnot to sing out loud

all in all a little silver star

4.0 out of 5 stars It's soooo tiny!, 28 Oct 2006
By E. Turner "Emi" (London, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is the first mp3 player I have ever bought so I don't really have much to compare it to. The first things that struck me was it was so tiny, thin and light. It actually fits in my wallet so I can to some extent disguise it from the eyes of would be thieves. It is very stylish and straight forward to use. You can put photos on it and they don't take up as much room as you'd think. I listen to it for 4 and 1/2 hours a day while commuting and I only have to recharge it once a week so it almost lasts the 24hr that people claim. You have to have the itunes software which can be a little annoying if all you tunes are on media player or something, it took 2 whole days non-stop for my computer to convert my music to the right format. The wheel is very sensitive which takes a lot of getting used to and sometimes it is difficult to switch off. The 2GB capacity is the total capacity and not the available capacity so you lose around an 1/8th of the 2GB to the software it still gives you plenty of room but you do feel a little cheated when you first realise this. Having said this I love my ipod and wouldn't change it.
