If anyone has been busy reclaiming the era of smooth 50s/60s crooners like Frank Sinatra, Julio Iglesias and Dean Martin, it's Italian sensation Patrizio Buanne. A world-renowned baritone, Buanne became a global sensation with his debut album The Italian, a compelling combination of easy-listening, jazz and orchestral ballads, as well as his more recent FIFA World Cup anthem "Stand Up! (Champions Theme)". Now the well-established 'Voice Of Romance' presents a follow up: Forever Begins Tonight. A mix of original tracks and his versions of classic evergreens, the album possesses the same oozing, effortless charm as its predecessor. The stand-out is of course the dynamic, emotive version of Robbie William's "Angels" ("Un Angelo") – the first time Robbie has ever allowed a foreign language version of the song - though the other 11 tunes are all executed with the same impressive professionalism and panache. His own songwriting – the ultra-seductive title track, for example – stand up admirably well next to exotic, Spanish-sung interpretations of Dusty Springfield's "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me" ("Io Che Non Vivo") and Elvis Presley's "Always On My Mind" ("Vives En Mi Corazo"), amongst other dreamy gems. --Danny McKenna

With this new album fans of Patrizio Buanne are once again really getting a great treat. His first album L'italian was fabulous and Forever Begins Tonight is something beyond words. It surely was worth all the waiting. With Patrizio's soft bariton voice many old classics will resuscitate again. Choosing one song over others is impossible but listening songs like "Only You" (Solo Tu), "Always On My Mind" (Vives En Mi Corazón), "You're My World" (Il Mio Mondo), "Sorridi", "Un Angelo (Angels) and "Let's Make Love" makes your heart melt and feet turn into spaghetti......simply you will fall in love with love. It had me crying one minute (Sorridi) and then choking with laughter the next (Bella Bella Signorina). Un Angelo (cover of Robbie Williams Angels) and some of the more traditional Italian songs are sung with such passion and intensity. I had the honour of seeing Patrizio in concert recently, and he is a great entertainer. Although this album is vastly different to his debut The Italian, it is a more mature and confident Patrizio that steals our hearts. Bringing his own brand of Italian style to his songs, Patrizio Buanne charms the listener with his magnificent voice into believing that romance is here to stay at last. A delightful album that includes a range of songs to please any kind of listener-from the slow ballads to the cheeky fun songs at the end. Throw in his good looks and good manners into the mix and it might be safe to say that Patrizio Buanne is here to stay.
