Synopsis

Features series 1 to 5 of the animated TV comedy. The programme is based around the Griffin family, comprised of bumbling, well-intentioned father Peter; his sweet but oblivious wife Lois; and their teenagers, dim-witted Chris and awkward Meg. The most recognisable characters, however, remain the family's masterminds: evil genius baby Stewie, determined to achieve complete world domination at the age of one, and Brian, an erudite martini-swilling dog, the family's lone voice of reason.

You've got to watch Family Guy!!!!!!!

If you like The Simpsons but are ready for the next step, you'll love Family Guy. Plenty of the storylines are cribbed straight from The Simpsons, but you'll forgive them that because they make them their own, primarily through the unbridled use of adult humour and ability to indulge in all the taboo subjects (you name them, incest, paedophilia, bondage, drug addiction, masturbation, murder, attempted murder (including an ex-Beatle, etc).

Family Guy also has re-invented the use of the flash-back, which I must admit is pretty much the whole basis of its humour.

If you are a guy, and are crass, then you'll lap this up. Without a doubt.

This is a great show however, this box set isn't value for money. You'd be much better off purchasing Seasons 1-5 separately (save you about £25)

Family Guy is a TV show that usually garners a love it or hate it response. It's crass, to be sure, but that's part of its beauty. The jokes fly by faster than many viewers can keep up with, and its reliance on extremely random events and flashbacks leave many scratching their head and wondering what the big deal is. I really enjoy it watching.. its funny not for all the people tho... ;] worth buying !!!
