This must be the superlative of all the "Best of"s available from this staggeringly original front-man of Cockney Rebel. For anyone who remembers Steve Harley for his hits of the Seventies and little else this is a real oppotunity to buy the cream of the albums so far. From old favourites like Mr. Soft, Judy Teen, Make me Smile and Mr Raffles that everyone remembers to newer offerings like Friend for Life and Journey's End (A Father's Promise)and Coast of Amalfi. For all the fans who have never got round to replacing the old vinyl here's your chance to relive all the old best bits and discover a new,less spaced-out Steve Harley in three mouth-wateringly good CDs.

From the moment i heard come up and see me i loved this music , then i heard sebastian and immediately i was hooked , this album brings all the memories flooding back , one minute i am in the seventies in my bedsit the next heaven True there is alot of the songs i do not recognise but when you get into this you are instantly hooked as i am
I loved the coast of amalfi and my other faves apart from those mentioned is the fathers song to his son very moving album i defy any one to play this and not hear it to the end .
I am in awe or Mr Harley and his rebels long may they continue to play great music

11 years old I instantly fell in love with Cockney Rebel and Steve Harley hearing the wonderful "The Human Menagerie" for the first time, and "Sebastian", "Hideaway" and "Lorretta's Tale" in particularly opened a completely new world to me. Growing up with records of The Beatles and Uriah Heep as my favourites, I now discovered glam rock at its best, and Cockney Rebel became heroes along with them, as well as Queen and Roxy Music. "The Psychomodo" followed, with "Mr. Soft" and "Tumbling Down" as favourites and Steve Harley was soon one of my great music heroes. Later we had "The Best Years Of Our Lives" with their greatest hit "Make Me Smile" and I followed Steve and the band through their albums until "The Candidate" was released before I got interested in other bands...but Cockney Rebel has always had a place in the back of my mind, and I have through the recent years bought a lot of their early albums on cd. Then I went to London for my holiday and discovered this triple collection of wonderful music (last week!), and was hysterically surprised when I discovered that not only were the songs from the early Cockney Rebel albums still great - the songs from the Steve Harley solo albums in the nineties and from last years "The Quality Of Mercy" are all fantastic and show that my hero has aged very well! The album is a wonderful journey through pop history and can be recommended to any pop/rock fan searching for great melodies and wonderful arrangements. And now the journey continues as I guess I have to buy the Steve Harley solo albums to complete my collection! 5 out of 5 - no doubt!!
