Product Description

The smash hit comedy from Olivier Ducastel and Jacques Martineau Directors of MA VIE & DRÔLE DE FÉLIX A pleasurable comedy of love and sexual identity unfurls over a balmy summer holiday. Marc (Melki) takes his wife Béatrix (Tedeschi) and their two children to the seaside house of his youth. The Mediterranean wind blows and the heat of summer strokes their passions and desires. Nineteen-year-old daughter Laura, has a rendez-vous with her biker boyfriend and then heads off to Spain, while their son Charly, 17, roams with his best friend Martin. Béatrix is sensitive to the erotically charged atmosphere that exists between the boys, and imagines that her son is gay. Marc meanwhile is upset at the prospect of it, although Béatrix is determined to be open. When Béatrix's lover Mathieu shows up, and Marc's old flame appears, complications ensue and the holiday descends into chaos.

Synopsis

During a balmy summer holiday, Marc (Gilbert Melki) takes his wife Beatrix, (Valeria Bruni Tedeschi) together with their two children, Laura and Charly, to the seaside house of his youth. Unbeknown to Marc, a series of events, confused with love and sexual identity, is about to unravel. His nineteen-year-old Laura, embarks on a rendezvous with her biker-boyfriend, which lands them in Spain, while his son Charly, 17, spends all his time exploring new places with his best friend, Martin. Beatrix senses that Charly and Martin are more than just the best of friends and that in actual fact, her son is gay. Although upset by the very prospect of having a gay son, Marc has greater complications to deal with when his old flame suddenly turns up at the same time as Mathieu, his wife's lover. Passions and desires reach boiling point and finally erupt in this comedy of chaos.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredibly funny + gorgeous guys = Best Gay Film Ever!, 19 Oct 2006
By Mike 21 (Liverpool, England) - See all my reviews
I'm going to keep this really brief. This is one of the funniest films i've ever seen, if you like the sound of it then you will DEFINITELY love it. If you're not sure, buy it, you won't be disappointed! I promise you'll have a smile on your face for hours after watching this film. The cute guys are just the icing on the cake!

5.0 out of 5 stars Feel Good Film, 5 Jul 2007
My partner and I both really enjoyed this film. It's fun and quite heart-warming, well-acted and entertaining without being over-dramatic or contrived. Very enjoyable and well worth watching.

5.0 out of 5 stars C'est magnifique!!!, 21 Jan 2007

(REAL NAME)
This is a briliant comedy of errors... or should i erreurs!!!

It allowed me the joys of turning offthe subtitles and watching it in french - and get the sublty of the jokes, after having to watch it about three times... none the less, it was well worth the effort to jog my french...

It tells a great twisted tale of how easy it is to get a situation totally wrong... but making the wrong assumptions within a small rather dysfunctional family... a father with a skeleton in his closet (pardon the pun), a mother having a sordid and torrid affair, an odd and absent daughter, a sexually confused son and a rampant gay best friend - just to make things truly complex. The twist is the tale comes near the end - and I wont allude to, less i ruin the plot.

Defo worth multiple viewing!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars This is not a gay movie: it's a funny movie
It is so annoying that Amazon file this film under 'gay & lesbian' when it is a comedy. Yes, there are gay scenes, but essentially it explores the different aspects of a family... Read more
