Amazon.co.uk Review

The bonds of true friendship and love are powerful enough to persist through even the most extreme circumstances, but can even the strongest bond endure when a young man and a young woman are split apart by the spirits? Since being turned into a bear as punishment for his insensitivity in Brother Bear, Kenai has managed to find true happiness and a compelling sense of purpose in his new relationship with his adopted brother Koda. But when Kenai's old friend Nita prepares for her wedding day with another man, the spirits send a sign indicating that a strong connection still exists between Kenai and Nita. The tribe Shaman suggests that the two join forces in a ritual to sever the bond between them and Nita, newly endowed with the ability to communicate with animals, seeks out Kenai in the woods. Even as the two friends resolutely journey to break the connection between them, the inescapable bond between them strengthens and threatens to disrupt not only Nita's upcoming marriage, but the special relationship between Kenai and Koda. In the end, destiny may require that each of the three choose between his or her happiness and the happiness of the other two. Like its predecessor Brother Bear, Brother Bear 2 features lush animation; a nice blend of action, suspense, and comedy; and a powerful message. (Ages 3-12)--Tami Horiuchi

5.0 out of 5 stars Suprisingly up to standard, 2 Sep 2007

If you collect Disney DVD's (the orinigal cinema releases, not the poor quality sequels straight to video) then check out Brother Bear 2 as a suprisingly up to orignal quality potential purchase.
The songs are of high quality, the animation is smooth and detailed and the voices are all the same as the original movie (except the main character, originally Joaquin Phoenix).
Very suprised that this has so much work put into it being so disapointed by Atlantis 2 and Hunchback 2.
My first disney sequel straight to DVD purchase. Hope they continue making them on this level, as sadly it looks like Disney arnt maiking anymore cartoon animated feature films these days.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Good Disney Sequel., 12 Jan 2009

I loved Brother Bear as I am a fan of Joaquin Phoenix and he played his part well. When I saw Brother Bear 2, there is a massive difference. His voice wasn't there, replaced by the handsome Patrick Dempsey and that's okay because I'm a fan of him too. This time, Kenai and Koda are closer than ever until Nita, Kenai's close friend from childhood, comes forward to ask him to go to where he gave her a necklace that means they were together forever. She needs him to destroy it so she could marry someone else but during the journey, they start to fall for each other while Koda feels left out and wonders if Kenai is going to return back to Human form. Though it's short and the songs are pretty chessy, it's very good and worth for little kids to see it if they enjoyed Brother Bear. I liked it so much that I bought it and is a lot better than most Disney sequels.
