3.0 out of 5 stars Good Hype, Poor PPV, 19 Dec 2006
Carlito vs Chris Masters - 7.5/10
~ Second best match of the night. Good paced, good action, decent match.

Umaga vs Ric Flair - 2/10
~ Rubbish.

WWE Women's Championship:
Trish Stratus vs Mickie James (c) - 4/10
~ Could've been a classic like at Mania22, but Trish breaks her arm and the match cuts short. I was left annoyed by no decent end, but Mickie rocks!

WWE Intercontinental Championship vs Money In The Bank:
Rob Van Dam (MITB) vs Shelton Benjamin (c) - 5/10
~ This match was boring. Nothing I had seen before. Way too long.

Kane vs Big Show ~ 2/10
~ Only good parts is where Show is rolling about everywhere. Otherwise, worst match of the year.

No Holds Barred:
Shane & Vince McMahon vs Shawn Michaels & "GOD" ~ 7/10
~ Some good spots, but a predictable and naff ending.

WWE Championship Triple Threat Match:
John Cena (c) vs HHH vs Edge ~ 8.5/10
~ With lots of action, blood and false finishes, it was a good match. Edge was cast aside (which is a down point) and the finish was yet again lame but what can you do?

Overall, your choice whether you buy it. Just wait for Armageddon 2006.

3.0 out of 5 stars 3 stars and thats that , 21 April 2008

(TOP 500 REVIEWER)
Backlash 2006 came hot on the heels of wrestlemania 22 and was average enough when the truth be known, certainly there was time wasting and filler thrown in to kill the clock here but some great matches remain in the mind and thats always good.
The event opened with carlito vs chris masters, the crowd were quickly bored by this as was i,it lasted about ten minutes but seemed to last 100 minutes and thatsa bad thing, the men shared no in ring chemistry and it all got dull too fast for my liking, the ending was good enough but lumpy enough in places.
Next up was a squash match involving ric flair and umaga.i hated this,to see naitch involved in a match like this isnt good for my heart, granted the old timers are used at times to give way to younger wrestlers but i didnt like this one bit,but thats business hey.
The womens title was up next, the champ mickie james going up against trish, this feud didnt have alot going for it and this was a waste of time, trish hurt herself for real here but aside from that this was a clock killer for sure.
Next up was a match that could be the best of the night,it was a money in the bank opportunity vs the intercontiental championship, rvd vs shelton benjamin, what a match, what a match,so good,i said that twice,i loved it from the beginning to end.
Next up was a match that was terrible,so much hype with the may 19th gimmick but what the creative team didnt count on was this getting old so fast,i hated it and here they milk it like a fleet of dairy cows, this match was terrible, normally i dont ruin the endings but this was a no contest, how bad is that, shocking and a nig ploy to plug kanes film, wise up creative team, dont treat me like a baby.
Next up was a great match with great hype and all the trimmings hey, vince and shane mcmahon vs shawn michaels and God,for those reading this as casual viewer,God is not a wrestler,he is the lord above so appears symbolically,so in essence this was a handicap match, mcmahon played up his role in this match brilliantly and this was a gory match,i adored it,a great feud that lasted its course and died at the right time, great.
Next up was a segment that lasted so long that i felt my life flash before my eyes, this was there to kill time,a feature involving matt striker and eugene, cringe worthy and terrible and thats me being kind, why oh why.
Next up was a good main event,my life didnt change because of it or anything like that but it was good enough,a triple threat match involving the champ john cena against triple H and edge, this was a good match as i said with a clever ending and enough spark to just about set a fire, not world class but good enough to watch again,a 3 star event then.
