'We will break you', she promises. However, when Stalin dies, the camp closes down, Ilsa and the guards kill the prisoners and leave. But Yakurin survives. As far as I know the last of the Ilsa films and probably the weakest.

The first half of the film has our leading lady in more familiar surroundings (running a male prison in Siberia) although without as much nudity or sleaze as in previous outings. The second half changes completely to over 20 years later when she is now running a chain of brothels in Canada.

I think the makers of the films had by this time just run out of ideas for the character. The movie does not have the required amount of nudity, sleaze or gore to please the 'exploitation' crowd and people that might find it more interesting as an action drama will probably bypass it because of the reputation the Ilsa films have acquired over the years. That's not to say it doesn't have it's moments but it's not in the same league as Wicked Warden or Haremkeeper.

The acting is so-so as you would expect from this type of film, some of the dialogue is unintentionally funny and If you are reading this then I probably don't need to tell you that Dyanne Thorne wasn't picked for the part because of her acting ability!! The ending was a mighty let down as well.

Extras on the disc contain a trailer, which manages to almost make the film look like an episode of the 'Carry On' series (great voiceover), removable subtitles and a stills gallery that is utterly random and seems to have been made by a drunk editor with a defective pause button!

If you are an Ilsa completist then I suspect you'll buy this anyway but I would be more inclined to 'recommend' it to people that enjoy cheapish 70's action drama. Don't however purchase if you are expecting an exploitation gem because it's not.

The producers of this Dutch DVD did not do this classic film justice. They never bothered to properly clean up the picture frames during production as what Anchor Bay did with the first three films. What a waste.

Ilsa, played by uber-milf Dyanne Thorne, runs Gulag 14, a Siberia based 're-education' camp where anyone seen to be kicking against the system is imprisoned and tortured into submission, if they try to escape, they're fed to a caged tiger, if they fail to sumbit, they're fed to a caged tiger, if they start a riot, they're fed to a, well, you get the picture. Anyway Stalin is supposedly executed although my history books say it was a brain haemorraghe (March 5th, 1953 for all you fact fans out there) so they burn down the camp and retreat to Canada, one prisoner lives, unbeknownst to Ilsa and 24 years later they meet again.
It's a particulary enjoyable mix of everything you'd expect from a 70s exploitation film, violence, sex, revenge, nudity and some particulary inventive death scenes, the added bonus is that there's a decent plot to back it up.
Of course, the film revolves around the sadistic commander played by Dyanne Thorne who doesn't need asking twice to slip out of her fur coat and although not a spring chicken at the time (45 according to Wikipedia), she's still alluring and minx like, if a sadistic torturer can be alluring and minx like, that is.

The last Ilsa picture is no better or worse than the other exploitation flicks with this character. Definitely started out with the same premise of Ilsa in charge of an oppressive violent group, but there was a nice change in plot to keep it interesting. Death scenes were laughably outrageous. There was some really sexy moments, too; Dyanne Thorne is as beautiful as ever. I found it interesting and enjoyable. Well worth my time.

This film contains the least amount of nudity of the Ilsa series... but does have some pretty good action sequences, especially the raid on Ilsa mansion... The only bad part is the finale,(spoiler) Ilsa left to freeze on the ice was weak... I was hoping for a spectacular death to complete the series... the lack of nudity kind of made the film a bit weak, no real violence to women, mostly men was different and the action scenes did work well... all in all a good entry, but a weak ending...
