I find it ironic that a band's side project managed to put out an album almost a year before their actual band's album is released, but life is full of surprises.

You may be aware of the world-dominating trio Biffy Clyro from Scotland. All of Clyro's members are involved in the enigmatic five-piece side project Marmaduke Duke, who as previously stated released an album in 2005. The remaining two members, JP Reid and Fergus Munro are of fellow Scottish band Sucioperro.

RAoI is a good debut. Opening up with the amusingly offensive The Crushing of the Little People, it's clear from the start they are capable of putting put some nice rock numbers. The second (and best) track is called Wolf Carnival, and is excellent, frankly. The rousing riff coupled with Reid's angry vocals match nicely. Other good tracks are the title track and Dialogue on the 2 which will have fans singing along to the choral "..I am stupid, I have a basic understanding of nothing.." in a similar way to how Biffy Clyro and Reuben's live shows have become reminiscent of mans choir practice.

If you need a description of the music, Sucioperro are a heavy-ish (although they never get as heavy or as outrageous as BC) yet poppy rock band with rabid Scottish accents. The word poppy is important there, and this is where they differ to and fall short of BC.. it's not challenging music at all. That doesn't take away anything from them but add in a couple of weak tracks too and suddenly they really fall short of BC.

All in all though great album, if you like Biffy Clyro and/or Hundred Reasons, Sucioperro are worth your time and money.
