4.0 out of 5 stars Connectivity problems, 28 Jul 2006
By Paul Wareing (Oxford, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I got this headset due to its ability to work both as a stereo audio headset, and it's phone override. Unfortunately, I had Belkin Bluetooth adaptors, which claim to support A2DP. I couldn't make them work with the headset. I can't determine whether that's because the Belkin adaptors are not up to the task, or whether the headset is behaving unusually.

I've now acquired a Jabra Bluetooth dongle as well: the A320s. Within 10 minutes, the headset's working fine.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great multi-function headset with a few quirks, 17 Jun 2006
By Povl Kvols Jensen "p_kvols" (Denmark) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I have just received this pretty advanced headset today. I really looked forward to use the headset, since it would give me the opportunity to listen to my favorite music, without missing a phone call.

The headset plays music using the A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile). Unfortunately this is still a bit rare today. My Windows PC does not support this at time of writing, my Ubuntu Dapper Drake is a smaller nightmare to get Bluetooth Audio to work, and my advanced Motorola A1000 cell phone's Bluetooth has enough problems with plain file transfers and is constantly loosing the Bluetooth connection.

Still, I did know this when I bought the headset, so why did I even bother? Well, I AM planning to go through the Linux Bluetooth driver nightmare, and I am furthermore planning on buying a Nokia A2DP audio gateway for my stereo equipment at home. As long as the headset (2-way voice) functionality works, this headset fulfills my whishes for a wireless stereo headset that can be used for VoIP, music and cell phone calls.

The headset also doubles as a pair of USB headsets, which is pretty neat when charging the headset, though the cable is a bit thick, and tends to be slighty annoying.

Things to note:

Voice (microphone) ONLY works in headset mode (phone/VoIP). The microphone is not active when used in HiFi mode (A2DP or USB)

Music quality is ok, though not quite on par with any of my Sennheizer headsets.

To me, the behind-the-neck strap takes some getting used to. It is definately a good idea if your hair/hat doesn't allow the traditional over-the-head type of headsets. I find it a bit uncomfortable, but I'll get used to it.

I have heard some crackling noise every 60 or so seconds when playing the headset in USB mode. This may be a problem related to this specific headset or to Windows.

General talk quality (microphone and speakers) is good, but the headset is too sensitive to wind to be used out doors.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent sound quality, although could be smaller, 18 Oct 2007
By G. Hinton (UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I think bass and general sound-wise, these are excellent headphones. They're fairly comfy, and when paired with my laptop or Nokia N95, the sound is great. I used a Jabra A320s bluetooth dongle without problems on my laptop, although I've been having some problems with my new 64 bit windows desktop, where it seems to drop the connection every minute or so, which is annoying but I suspect this is a configuration issue rather than a hardware fault.

3 small niggles:
1. They're quite big - would be nice if they could make them smaller
2. They flash blue by default (although you can turn this off easily).
3. They're not comfy to wear around your neck for any period of time when you're not listening to them.
