Synopsis

A team of scientists and military personnel is dispatched to the distant Pegasus galaxy to explore the remnants of the Lost City of the Ancients, also known as Atlantis in this STARGATE SG-1 spin-off series. The Ancients were an advanced human race that initially created the Stargate network, and diplomat Dr. Elizabeth Weir (Torri Higginson) and pilot Major John Sheppherd (Joe Flanigan) head the international squad that is sent to investigate. The team arrives at Atlantis to find the city abandoned and their ship permanently stranded, unless they can find a power source to get themselves home to earth. They make contact with a brave but primitive native civilisation as well as with the evil Wraith, a species that feeds on fear and, it quickly becomes clear, poses a threat to human life everywhere. Sheppard's brash, instinctive nature contrasts with the calm thoughtfulness of Dr. Weir, and their team is rounded out by Sheppard's second-in-command Lt. Aidan Ford, witty Scottish doctor Carson Beckett, Pegasus native leader Teyla Emmagen, and inimitable scientist Rodney McKay.

Sadly for Jason Momoa the featurette detailing his character Ronon Dex is, while interesting, overshadowed on this stand out disc of Stargate Atlantis. Firstly the other featurette has a look at the many stunts performed on Atlantis, these behind the scenes snippets are always interesting and this specifically give insight into how certain stunts are performed and also how they go wrong. It's interesting to see just what they will let the actors do themselves and what is too dangerous.

The highlight of the disc however had to be the episode Grace Under Pressure. In this episode McKay (always funny) gets trapped underwater in a jumper. He starts to hallucinate and has imaginary conversations with Samantha Carter, which to be honest is hilarious. In addition to this we are treated to a commentary with both David Hewlett and Amanda Tapping. This is definitely my favourite disc of this season so far.

four top episodes. Critical mass see's goa'uld bomb plot cause chaos. Bo Bridges makes an appearance , been a few years since i've seen him. Let's just say the man at the pie shop has rated him his best customer....know what i mean!
Any way the city has to remain cloaked to avoid wraith attack. I think they had to build a seperate cloak for Bo'!!
Episode Grace Under Pressure- has rodney Mckay trapped in a jumper under water(no not the knitted kind!). Que in depth study of said Dr's mind and some fine halosinations for a sexy wet t-shirt Sammanth carter! (pass the tissues vicer). The Tower episode see's our band of explorers on the rob for atlantian technology. The Long goodbye has two unwelcome visiters who take over shepperd and weir , supposed to be an ancient married couple. They then turn out to be old enemys...sounds like they definatly were married at some point. Shepperd gets to tounge sandwich weir. Such a tough job being an actor. Anyway buy this if you like the other episodes loads of action and some funny parts...can't go wrong then.
