3.0 out of 5 stars The End? You Wish!, 6 Aug 2009
At long last, Caroline and Richard had finally confessed their love! But once again, the writers were entirely devoted to dragging out the story for as long as they possibly could.

In the first episode of this series, having finally kissed, Caroline and Richard are about to have sex. But in a 'Comical' farce which really tests the limits of my patience, every other main cast member shows up to interrupt them in one way or another.

At the end of the episode, the couple decide to not have sex for two months, "Because it's far enough away so that we won't feel like were rushing, and soon enough so that we won't go crazy."

Translation: "It's far enough away to keep dragging out the series, but soon enough to keep the fans from rioting, or just simply giving up and changing the channel."

In short then, sex merely replaced love in the desperate struggle to keep the programme going. There then followed a huge collection of pointless 'Filler' episodes. And then, once the couple had finally expressed their love, overcome their fears and decided to marry, along came yet another infuriating plot turn to drag the 'Will They, Won't They' even further.

Caroline begins falling for an old friend from her home town, simply because she's clinging to the past, her family home and her childhood like a drowning rat to a piece of driftwood,

Julia (Richard's ex-wife) has given birth to a son, so Richard goes to Italy to look after him.

Months pass. Will Caroline end up with Richard? Go on, have a guess :-)

3.0 out of 5 stars Sad about the ending, still loving the characters, 11 Jan 2009
I was sadly disappointed by the sudden and horrible ending of the series, the last episodes (if your DVD has them in order, which mine didn't) are actually terrible if you compare them with the rest of the series. I loved the characters so much I had to buy the season, and it has some fine moments too, specially the funny ones between Richard and Caroline, but there are too many changes and characters that are not coming back this season and that I missed and then the script had some flaws, it seems the scriptwriters hadn't watched the other seasons as there were mistakes. Caroline parents did know Richard but suddeny forgot and things like that...I enjoyed it but I have to admit it was not as good as the other seasons.
