To make life even easier, it comes with a built-in direct USB jack which means you can simply plug it in to your PC and transfer all your favourite music within seconds. As well as being very easy to use, you get up to 28* hours playback with the fantastic rechargeable battery.

If this wasn't enough, it only takes a mere three minutes to charge in order to enjoy up to three hours of playback. So plug it in, make a cup of tea and your new E Series is ready to entertain you for the next three hours. For a full charge, the E Series only needs two hours.

You also get a set of headphones, the essential SonicStage3.4 CD-ROM and a quick start guide whether you choose the 512 MB, 1 GB version or the 2 GB one. So once you've made your purchase, you're ready to go. Other accessories available are an attractive armband, a silicon protective case, an acrylic splash-proof case and a clip with 3 caps making this one of the most stylish music players on the market.

    I got this in April after losing my NW-E407. I was therefore familiar with how these players work, and although this has a smaller screen it is in fact easier to use than the older model.
    I have to admit, the necessary Sonic stage isn't anywhere near as user friendly as iTunes but it is still easy to use and having all my songs in the ATRAC3plus format at 32kbps means that i have 600 songs on it, taking up only 900MB!!! so I now i also have a 1GB flash drive!
    The screen, a one line OLED,which isn't amazing and is impossible to see in sunlight but, unlike the ipod shuffle, it still has a screen. The sound quality is amazing for such a little thing, beating Apple hands down on that front.
    So, if you want a small MP3 player that has a screen, for a good price, get this

    It was with some trepidation that i purchased a sony mp3 player due to the mixed reviews regarding the software that is supplied (sonic stage 3). Well i can say that it was installed with no problems at all and is as simple as ABC. I am impressed with the players performance and its ease of use. I sugest that in the event you can install with no problems then you will be happy with this item therefore i thoroughly recomend it. 5x

    My first ever MP3 player. I got it from Amazon a week ago. Sounds great - headphones fine. Battery life defies belief - I've still not managed to run it down from its initial charge, despite lots of listening. It charges in any USB port (truly international standardisation - no adaptor needed, any laptop PC / web cafe will do...3 minutes charge = 3 hours listening.)
    OK, so the software isn't brilliant, but I am no IT whizz and I managed fine. I downloaded SonicStage 4.0 from Sony's website before I ordered the MP3 player itself. I easily transferred 90 CDs onto Sonic Stage, and from there onto this tiny MP3 player. Yes, 90 albums on a cigarette-lighter sized player. I recommend it to anyone - and 2GB at this price? Easy decision. Buy it.
