What a brilliant record!

Think Bonnie Prince Billy on 'Master and Everyone' meets Nick Drake on 'Pink Moon'. Its that good

The comparisons to Nick Drake are obvious due to his precise, rythmic guitar playing style. The production is better than on Drakes material though. This is how Nick Drake could have sounded if they didnt splash high pitched strings over everything.

If you like Surfjan, Kings of Convenience, Bonnie Prince Billy, Jack Johnson, Iron & Wine, Scott Matthews etc then you will love this record

In a world where there are going to be no more Nick Drake albums, Alexi Murdoch helps fill the gap. Not quite up to the work of the master but if you like Drake you'll undoubtedly like this.

Laid back with mostly strong songs. (Hey its an album , they can't all be great ..thats the album rules). More of a John Martyn vocal feel to me, but see where the other reviewers are coming from on guitar playing. Gave a copy to a friend this year for crimbo and she was simply blown away continually texting me through to the early morning as she listened to each track raving about how good the album is and she is very fussy music wise. Can't wait for the follow up. Check out the great live performances on you tube and simply enjoy. Stongly recommended.
