Old RD is a great songwriter, and a great all round entertaining person. This collection from his early folk career shows how good his songwriting was/is BUT so much of it is lost in the jumbled up production of the music much of it is unlistenable for any sustained period. The cds have been reproduced very faithfully, which means they are accurate to the production of the time, but I can't help but think they would have benefitted from tilting the music back a bit and bringing his voice forwards to suit the modern market a bit more. For fans only, for this reason.

It is too easy to remember Richard for his appearances on daytime TV and forget his roots in Folk Music. This album is a great reminder of where he came from. Some tracks are almost Al Stewartesque in their delivery. For me the best bits are the 'live' tracks which evoke such good memories.
