Rumble Roses XX gives you ringside seats to the next generation of all-girl wrestling from Konami.

Featuring over 20 female characters, Rumble Roses XX is a graphically stunning wrestling title featuring a wide range of throws, counter-moves and pin-downs. Each character has a distinct personality, from Cow-Girl Dixie through to school girl Candi and wicked nurse Anesthesia

In addition to the staple throws, slaps and pins of the wrestling genre, each girl has specific attacks linked to their overt personalities and can also string together a number of moves to create formidable combinations. In keeping with the glitzy showcase nature of the game, the girls also have taunt moves to rile their opponents and to get the crowd going

Rumble Roses XX features a number of solo modes wherein players can pummel their way through the game's many characters and unlock additional foes. There are also a number of additional competitions to put the player through their paces, each giving the player a chance to access the hundreds of possible attacks the game can produce

Multi-player action is also included via a four-player Tag team competition, wherein two teams of two girls can fight against each other. The Tag Team mode also gives players access to previously inaccessible moves as the pairs work together. Rumble Roses XX will also make use of the Xbox Live online gaming service, with one-again-one bouts or team battles to be enjoyed against like-minded fans

Being a big wrestling game fan, I decided to pick up Rumble Roses XX for my 360.

GAMEPLAY
I found the game extremely easy to pick up, it uses a cut down version of the Smackdown VS Raw control system (X (plus up/down/left/right punches or kicks, Y (plus up/down/left/right) does a grapple move, Left bumper (plus X or Y) defends or reverses).

With such easy to pick up controls Rumble Roses brings with it an excellent pick up and play game system, the initial screen is a map with the options of in-ring fight (arena, skyscraper or red desert), street fight (like a cut down version of Dead or Alive in a cage), Queens match (win the match to make your opponent do forfeits) and locker/shop (see further down).

There is also and Exhibition mode so you can play your favourite matchs.

The only downside to the game is that the manual does not mention how to get into title ship fights (360 Gamer says win 15 matches (with matches 12-15 being consecutive wins).

GRAPHICS
Wow. The Rumble Roses ladies look amazing in ring, and during fight entrances.

SOUNDS
General music, Roses can taunt/shout out to the crowd during matches. But nothing spectacular.

LASTABILITY
Each Rose has costumes to unlock, a camera mode to unlock and items to unlock for the Queens match, which once unlocked can be purchased in the shop. Each Rose can be customised via the locker option(body size, costume worn, entrance song) or you can make your own Rose (very limited compared to the custom wrestler options in WWE games).

However, the game does feel slightly repetitive and once you've unlocked everything with one character I doubt you would do it again with another character.

The game has X-Box Live options for uploading photos taken and playing online - BUT I have not tried these out so cant comment.

OVERALL
A fun wrestling game for when you've got time to burn, and like watching virtual ladies fight (in embarrassing clothing if you want).

Ok ok, this game won't immerse you to the point of no return, nor will it stun you with its gameplay.
But, in a world like ours, Rumble Roses XX is the ultimate gift to a teenage boy, and easily the most fun.

Wrestling titles are rare on consoles, good wrestling titles are even rarer.
The original Rumble Roses was pretty good (using the Smackdown engine was a great move)
Im sure many owners of the original looked forwards to this, do yourself a favour, dont bother.
The game itself is really pretty, the graphics are great, the gameplay is poor, there is no story mode, and you soon get bored with there being little to zero replay value once youve unlocked everything (doesnt take long).

If its mild titilation you want, buy an Anime movie, if its a good wrestling game, wait for Smackdown Vs Raw 2007.
