3.0 out of 5 stars Pleasant enjoyable but light weight pop song. , 18 April 2006

As band names go Lorraine is only slightly worse than calling yourself Sylvia or Edna. Mind you it's still better than Toploader or Goldie looking Chain. Anyway this breezy pop number is the debut single from The Norwegian band and it's exceedingly pleasant and enjoyable to listen to with a swishing melody that will have those annoying people who can whistle in tune pursing their lips till they ache.
However it's a slight, almost diaphanous song which when you are talking pop music, which I reiterate is what "I Feel It" is, is not the strongest recommendation. I want huge halcyon chorus's and verses so large you could blunt glaciers with them. This song is so feeble it wouldn't chip the icicles off your gutter. Built around a frontline cascading keyboard and other shimmering diffuse keyboards the song doesn't lack for melodious impact but is sonically unremarkable. Singer Ole Gunnar Gunderson has a proficient but bland voice which has a similar effect to that chubby faced bloke from Keane. You know he can sing but you sort of wish he couldn't so it would make it more interesting.
Extra track "K19" is "I Feel It" but without any of its quality. Again it's light weight but it has been gutted of any melody or indeed anything that would make it linger in the memory. I swear that I was actually forgetting about it thirty seconds before it finished.
I recently reviewed a band called White Rose Movement who has a problem the diametric opposite of Lorraine. They don't write particularly memorable songs but they attack them with a ferocity bordering on the psychotic. Put the two together and the results could be astounding. I think we really would feel it then. And they would get a better band name.

3.0 out of 5 stars Feeling it .... sort of , 1 May 2006
One of the most vital elements of music success is originality, and this Norwegian trio get full marks. The vocals are soft, yet leave an electro-bite, the beat consistent, and the fresh sounds of the track are guaranteed to interest fans of Depeche Mode and Pet Shop Boys. For a debut single, the result is nothing to shout about, but certainly introduces a band to expect interesting movement from.
