When I bought this game, I was so happy to play the game that I used to play when I was young. It is also great idea that SEGA has gathered all the vintage Sonic games in one disk!
It is very fun game and I would recommend this game to anyone who likes Sonic!

I've been waiting for Sega to release all of the Sonic games for the PC for absoloutly ages! And finally they have!

The only review for this collection is a negative one, so I feel the need to cancel that out with my positive outlook as a long-term Sonic fan.

The reviewer who rated this game two stars has to keep one thing in mind: most of these games are over a decade old and were designed for 8 and 16 Bit consoles. Not the 512 Bit ones we have now. And the code hasn't been fiddled with to update it (apart from the Mega Drive to PC code obviously), so these are the same games people were playing around ten years ago. Therefore sound isn't mindblowing, graphics are a bit blocky and controls aren't lighning slick, but these are still AMAZING classic games that I think everyone should own!

Sonic games are the kind of games you can spend either ten minutes playing or 10 hours playing. They just don't get boring!

This is an excellent collection, especially for the price. It features practically every 8 bit and 16 bit Sonic game, and a few little-known Sonic arcade games. This version (Sonic PLUS Mega Collection) is the most comprehensive release, as it features the Game Gear Sonic titles as well.

As far as I can see, they haven't been modified in any way apart from the added Save feature, which allows you to save at any point in the game. This is a welcome addition, although purists may argue that it makes the games too easy. While somewhat dated graphically, these games actually had great graphics for the time, and at the end of the day, it's gameplay that counts. I couldn't tell you how many 128-bit games I've played and turned off after an hour or two of play because they simply don't flow. These games will never get old, and with so many games on one release, you'll have absolutely hours of fun on your hands with this collection. And it beats scouring eBay for nicely-kept cartridges from the early 90s!

For re-living those hours of childhood entertainment, this is a great release. Let's hope the other major game franchises do the same!

Not very responsive controls (keyboard or joypad), and problems with sound. Some of the games here are obviously very good if you can put up with the above.
