3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty useless compilation, 23 Jan 2007
By A. Godin "Noisy Flowers" (Canada) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Considering that Daft Punk have only released three albums, it would have been easy to make this compilation a proper singles collection. If you dropped the album tracks and the remixes from this issue, there would be plenty of room to include Burnin' (you would think that with 5 tracks from Homework that they would have covered all the singles!) and the two missing singles from Discovery (Digital Love and Aerodynamic) as well as The Prime Time of Your Life from Human After All. To add insult to injury, the booklet features cover shots of the first three missing singles just to remind you of what you're missing.

The three remixes might justify the purchase of the album for some but they sound more like filler to me. Having all the singles in one place and maybe an additional Homework era b-side (Assault) would have justified it a lot more.

The music being what it is, I have to at least give the album three stars but I can't give anything more to this compilation that feels to me like a missed opportunity.

4.0 out of 5 stars Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger..., 5 Jul 2007
By P. Limmer "MrMellow" (England) - See all my reviews

...just four words you could use to describe Daft Punk i the face of most other dance acts around today. This best of just reminds you how slick, impressive and downright FUN Daft Punk are - something missing from a great deal of dance acts today. The highlights are obviously One More Time, Around The World and the aforementioned Harder Better Faster Stronger - all perfect reminders of amazing club nights gone by. A great place to start for those that are new to Daft Punk - you'll be amazed by how many songs you actually know. Go and buy it immediately.

4.0 out of 5 stars Unbeliveably good., 23 Sep 2007
By N. Alpaslan "SuperMum" (London, England) - See all my reviews

This should be a must for any techno/house fans. Many belive that those genres are dead and just something for dance clubs in Ibiza, but Daft Punk continues to make something fresh. It loses a mark because this is not with the DVD. And it doesn't have Digital Love, which is a very feelgood song that would have put more variation into this album. But, if you don't want to spend too much money (Musique Vol. 1 CD+DVD) or want a more complete Daft Punk history (Homework/Discovery/Human after all), buy this.
