This sailing regatta simulator is great fun and will hone your yacht racing skills. The most fun is to be had with internet gaming where there is a lively community and other yacht models can be added-on at no cost from various fan sites.

Note that the new Virtual Skipper 5 is due out, probably April 2007. I dont know if VSK4 players will be able to play online with the VSK5 players but based on previous experience, I dont think it's likely. But VSK4 at it's current price is good value if you like sailing.

I bought this program on a whim, having tried planes, cars and train sims I thought, why not try boats. The graphics are very good, especially on higher settings where you can see your crew doing your bidding changing sails and switching sides on the boat. The rendering of the sea and weather on higher settings is also very good. The tutor section takes you through most of the basics of the sim. The controls are very simple and easy to master. The game is based around sailing in races around the world in various weathers, sea conditions and boat types. I am yet to complete them all but so far they are very good. If I have one criticicm it would be that so far they are very short, 5 mins or less to complete, which I doubt is very realistic. There is also a build your own race section in the program. Overall a very good program and a nice change if you are tired of planes, cars and trains.

Could not get the game to work. My PC is way over spec and all drivers Etc are current.It freezes on a black screen asking for a name I was not able to enter anything keyboard entry not operable and had to perform the Three finger salute "cntrl.alt.del" to escape. 2 E-Mails to tech support were ignored.
