5.0 out of 5 stars Seeing the Scottish Highlands at Their Best, 13 Oct 2006
Debra and David Rixon's amusing, informative and spectacular film of the long distance trail. Essential travelogue for both Scotland and walking enthusiasts alike... Since opening in 1980, the West Highland Way has become the most popular long distance trail in the U.K. Recorded in May 2005, its anniversary year during exceptional weather, the couple walk and film the challenging 95-mile trail all the way ...meeting Rangers, musicians, historians, fellow walkers and local folk.

As well as the wonderful scenery and interviews there are mini-features such as: Glengoyne Distillery, Inchcaillaoch and Loch Lomond, Rob Roy, the Highlands, the Railway, Rannoch Moor, Glencoe, Ben Nevis and Fort William.

The DVD runs two hours and is in five parts. Makes a great preview if you are considering walking the trail, or a wonderful souvenir if you have finished this epic trek. As it says on the cover "It's more than a journey, it's like an odyssey"

No helicopters were used in the making of this film!
