1.0 out of 5 stars The one that got away, 5 Nov 2006

Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
I'm a sucker for Post Apocalyptic RPG's and RTS's. I played Fallout, Fallout II and Fallout Tactics. I'm in the process of making Voodoo dolls of Bethesdas managers in order to speed up the release of Fallout three. I fell for Soldiers of Anarchy, which was poor bug ridden rubbish, and then I bought this.

The real shame with this game is that it could have been so much more. I imagined a free roaming map where I could build up little survivalist communities, a kind of post apocalyptic Settlers or Stronghold, but far more intricate and detailed.

What I found was bad script writing, mediocre controls, awful combat, and a game which seems to have lost a lot in translation.

At least I hope it started out in a foriegn langauge. No English publisher would ever have published a game which demonstrated such poor grasp of the English language. And the bugs.

In Fallout II the bugs were excusable as it was such a great game, but here... Oh never mind...

And that really is how you should treat this game. Never mind. But please spend a quiet moment in thought for a concept which could have been so, so good.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst Game Ever, 2 Jul 2006

Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This is the worst game i've ever had the misfortune to spend my money on.
Firstly it is full of bugs and i can't find a patch for it.
Secondly i've tried reporting problems to the manufacturers and have yet to have a reply after 2 weeks of persistence.

Imagine this bug - in order to try to get round the many bugs you have to save frequently in case you hit a new one. So the first time i tried reloading a save you know what it does? It just puts you back to where you ended up when you went to reload. How fantastic is that?

Another bug - you build up your "forces" and have to cater for them where they're in "residence" by supplying food and water. Even though you do this (and this is reflected in decreased production at that location), they still die.

Both these bugs are key areas in the game - it's as if they just havn't play tested it???!!!

I implore you not to buy this rubbish game - go spend your money on something more fun, like poking yourself in the eye.

On a side note i bought "Oblivion" and it's a cracker, in total opposite to Ground Zero, the copies of which should be compressed to make new road surfaces or soemthing like that. It's that annoying this is my first ever Amazon review :)
