4.0 out of 5 stars Excellently played, but still rather hard to penetrate., 30 May 2006

I don't get much pleasure from listening to these etudes - not just this recording, but I can't really imagine any recording really impressing me. Live, no doubt, these are quite exciting. And they are played with great precision here. But, if you're looking to enjoy listening to Sorabji, I can think of better places to look (Habermann, Madge, or Ogden). These are just a little too hard-core for me to recommend to a non-dedicated listener.
