5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent piece of kit!, 1 Jun 2006
I had been shopping around for 3 weeks online and in the high street looking for an MP3 player and this was the one I finally went for.

I did lots of reading and research and unless you go for some cheapo non-brand name MP3 player you will not get an MP3 player with a memory as large as this one anywhere for this low a price. This same Samsung model is currently selling in the high street at the same price but with only a 512MB memory!

2GB memory is probably all you'll need. I went for a flash drive MP3 player as I didn't really see the need to have your entire music collection with you. This one still gives you plenty of choice though - I've currently got just over 40 albums on this player (that's 500 odd MP3 tracks all @ 128kb)!

This particular player is as well built as the Sony ones I considered getting. Although it only weighs about the same as snack size Mars bar it doesn't feel fragile and has metal parts on all bits you'll be using the most - the buttons. Other models I looked at felt very flimsy but this one doesn't feel as if you're going to break something if you press too hard (or drop it!).

Thirty minutes after I had opened the box I had transferred all of the MP3s I wanted on it from my PC. Two hours after that it was fully charged and I was using it.

The navigation is very easy to use. I picked up the basics within a few minutes. All of the menus are very straightforward but at the same time give you stacks of options.

You can even store your own graphic equalizer settings. It's also very easy to make up a playlist from all of the albums you store on it.

You can locate a track, fast forward, rewind tracks etc. all very easily. As for the headphones, well I won't be replacing these as I think they're really very good actually. In fact this player has the best sound I've heard of any personal audio player I've owned.

I can't recommend this player enough.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than Sony, 24 Feb 2006
By M. Lane "marklane100" (UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I bought the Sony 6GB MP3 before Christmas, cost around £130 if I remember correctly. Unfortunately, I lost it to a pickpocket in Bulgaria in January. So, it was back to Amazon to find a replacement. I chose this Samsung product based entirely on the reviews I read on this page. For all the good looks and fancy features of the Sony, to me, this is an immeasurably better value product. The sound quality is first rate and the maximum volume, which is very important to me, is far higher than on the Sony. As someone who is completely hopeless with all things electronic, I also found it a doddle to get this Samsung MP3 working.

Take a bow Samsung, you have struck gold with this product. If you are mulling over the choice of a new MP3 player, I can unconditionally recommend this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Sound and Good Value, 10 Feb 2006
By Arv Surani "Arv" (London United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
Amazon have done it again, with the lowest price on the internet for this MP3 player. I have previously owned an iRiver MP3 player which has excellent sound, but is now a couple of years old and only has a capacity of 256MB.

Having recieved the player from Amazon a couple of days ago, I can confirm that the sound from this player is excellent. Also, it is very easy to use, and requires no software to load songs onto it.

I wanted an MP3 player for use on my journey to/from work, and when I go running. This fits the bill exactly, as it is small, lightweight and has 2GB storage.
