Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review
While perhaps initially more well known for their famous friends than their chart placings, Wilderness Is Paradise Now, the debut album from Reading’s Morning Runner, confirms this to be a band with their beady eyes on the upper echelons of the British rock hierarchy. Reportedly an inspiration on Coldplay in the making of their 2005 album X&Y, early singles like "Be All You Want Me To Be" and "Burning Benches" will be immediately familiar to anyone who’s ever fallen for the charms of one of Chris Martin’s gently descending piano ballads. The album takes care to tread a slightly different route, throwing in songs like "Gone Up In Flames" that cunningly pulls off the jagged rock stomp of Stereophonics circa "More Life In A Tramp’s Vest" with added swirling Mellotron backdrop. True, at times you may be left with the uncomfortable sensation of listening to someone making a decent fist of some Coldplay karaoke, but if you’re willing to ignore the comparisons and just listen, however, you’ll stumble on gems like the gentle, heartfelt "Oceans" that more than justify the admission. --Louis Pattison

Description
After allegedly inspiring Coldplay's 2005 album 'X&Y' with their early releases, 'Wilderness Is Paradise Now' is the debut album by Reading's Morning Runner. Produced by John Cornfield (Supergrass, Razorlight, Athlete) the album sees the band combining the sounds of classic indie rock with passionate songwriting. The singles 'Burning Benches' and 'Be All You Want Me To Be' are included.
