Bird York, who was recently nominated for an Oscar for her "In the Deep" song, presents a deliciously fantastic album as her first offering with a major label.

Unfairly un-noticed until now, Bird presented her label with an ultimatum - get the CD out with a matter of weeks or she wouldn't sign. Clearly to capitilise on her oscar momentum, Bird has every right to release this compliation mix of her greatest songs she created whilst independent, and a few of her newest delicate melodies.

With a voice like a dark seduction in a midnight rendez-vous, her deeply entracing mix of understated and incredibly crafted latenight songs are the perfect way to unwind.

You'd have trouble categorising this CD, largely because you have to hear it to believe it - an intoxicating mix of imagery and melody, its deeply sophistocated and one of the best your likely to hear.

One Talented Lady, 4 Feb 2008

You will recognise her even if you don't actually know who she is from her work on several TV shows perhaps most recently her role as Toby's ex-wife in The West Wing. Anyone who watched the Oscars in 2005 will remember her breathtaking performance of In The Deep the chilling theme from the movie. All in all she is a vastly underrated artist. This album is beautiful, she has extreme lyrical ability and a sensual,emotive voice that is instantly captivating. Unique, enchanting and intriguing. Cannot recommend this album more! Sit back and listen you will not be bored.
