I do alot of travelling on airplanes and wanted something to replace some Sony and Sennheiser (non ear-canal) nightmares that constantly fell out and did nothing to block the roar of the plane.

I bought the Shures from an Amazon trader (in the US). They arrived reasonably promptly. I am using them with a Creative Zen MP3 player.

Sound - the sound is immediately better than my �20 - �30 Sony and Sennheiser phones. Previous reviews have said that the E2C and E3C models are bass light and I would tend to agree. The bass can probably be best described as 'accurate' but not 'full'. (This knocks one star off). The mid is fine and the treble not overpowering - but perhaps a smidgin bright with some types of music. Playing around with the position in the ear can bring a small improvement to the bass

Fit. Bloody marvellous. They certainly suit me. I have been using the foam plugs. They stay in - hallelujah! They block a significant amount of outside noise - great. The angled plug at the end of the lead is welcome.

Build. I have read reviews complaining of fragility. After only 3 weeks I cannot realistically comment. There is a sturdy, if rather bulky, case supplied.

Overall, the secure fit and noise blocking is my biggest plus - outweighing any minor niggles.

Good sound. Good value. Recommended.

Had these 'phones for over a year now. Changed the player to an iPod Classic. The build quality is standing up well. The sound quality with the iPod is great - although the bass from the E3Cs is a bit shy especially when swapping between them and the iPod buds. Overall, a huge improvement in clarity and involvement over the iPod buds. Worth the money.

Still recommended - and the price has come down. Winner!

I have been using this product for 2 months. The sound is brillant, however they are easy to damage when cleaning out wax from the Nozzle. Cleaning out a nozzle, with the supplied tool, I punctured the filter located inside the nozzle.

My only choice now is to send them in to get repaired, and will likely have to bear the cost, depsite what I believe is a poorly designed wax removal tool, and filter. The 4C doesn't suffer from this problem as the nozzles can be easily replaced. Will be buying the 4C next.

If you do buy this be very careful when cleaning.

recieved my shure E3C-N earphones today its now midnight,I got them at 3pm and havent stopped listening to them. I purchased a sony NW 808 2 months ago and was really impressed with the supplied earphones,much better than ipods cheapos,but I always fancied seeing how a more expensive set would sound,the difference is amazing much clearer,less muffled makes listening to your fav tracks a new experience.
make sure you fit them correctly in the ear and you wont be dissapointed.
5 stars love them
