with large, side handles and a toughened-glass lid with phenolic knob, from Le Creuset.

Boxed.
COLOUR - 'NEW BLUE'(Graded shades).
A recipe leaflet is included. Although limited, this does give you a start if new to this versatile style of cooking!

Sturdy, functional design - making boiling, braising, steaming - even poaching easy, on any heat source - and attractive enough to take to the table, too!

The large flat base aids that all important even heat distribution and makes it easier to move ingredients around; the gently sloping sides allow for the stacking of ingredients, e.g. the shredded chicken in my favourite recipe - a handed-down version of Chicken and Vegetable Stir Fry!

If you have an Aga, a Rayburn or even a halogen hob then forget trying to use this wok, as you will never get it hot enough to stir fry on. You will simply warm your food up to a slow simmer instead. The base of this wok has a very small 'footprint' in contact with the heat source, so it needs a serious amount of concentrated heat to get it going. On the other hand, if you have a decent gas, electric or induction hob then the world is your oyster.
If you can get enough heat under this wok then it's awesome. But if you can't then prepare to be disappointed.

Recieved the Le Creuset wok for Christmas from my Parents. Having owned a few Le Creuset pans and adding to them as and when I can afford to I mentioned I wanted the wok. When I recieved it I was suprised by the Size! Its big enough to cook a dish for my family of 5 and a few extra kids for tea. The only down side I have is the weight and where I store it on a top shelf! Shouldn't be an issue when I get my new kitchen and additional storage space. I've used it for stir frys and for deep frying banana fritters or samosas. It cleans up well, only needing a wipe on some occassions with kitchen paper.The lid is especially useful if cooking in advance and covering up until ready to serve. The woks also useful to serve dishes in at the table as long as its on a heatproof surface- the kids just help themselves to how much they want.

I would recommend this wok to anyone considering buying a wok as it will last a life time and will never go out of fashion.
