The Kompakt umbrella organisation label, distribution company is home to some of the best electronic music around.
Kompakt offer the utmost freedom for artists interested in "weird, experimental sounds" sounds which have a habit of going on to shape the rest of the electronic and even pop.
After three singles on KOMPAKT and a slew of releases on his own label Echocord, Copenhagen based Mikkel Meldgaard aka MIKKEL METAL presents his first full length of dark and dubby electro-pop.
Downtempo, moody, and in general, less-than-optimistic the melancholy feel of the record is echoed in the robotic vocodered vocals that punctuate the majority of the songs here.
MIKKEL METALs music doesnt force itself on the listener, rather, like his hero Brian Eno, it acts as a counterpoint to what is going on around it.
VICTIMIZER takes inspiration from the fringes of dub, indie-rock, vocoder-pop and of course Minimal Techno, this album isn't so simple to pigeonhole in your encyclopedia of genres.
MIKKEL METAL has delivered dynamic, universal music that once again showcases the progressive growth and depth in KOMPAKT's blossoming family.
The cd-version also contains all of Mikkel's old ep's for Kompakt, most of which are now deleted.
