5.0 out of 5 stars Oops - they've done it again!, 6 Jun 2007
By Ginny (England) - See all my reviews
I've thoroughly enjoyed the DVDs of this very entertaining series. If only they (the producers of the DVDs) could get the viewing order of the episodes right!

It's happened on all 3 series and will probably happen again on the 4th series. But this won't stop me buying it. The characters and storylines are hilarious and the Caroline / Richard story arcs of "Will they won't they" keep me glued to the screen. It's a shame I've only got 1 more series to go and that's it.

PS Does anyone have the correct running order for Series 3 and 4? I found the reviews for Series 1 & 2, with the correct running order, very useful.

3.0 out of 5 stars "Stretch it Any Further & it'll Snap!", 6 Aug 2009
Yes! The episodes are out of order! But getting back to the PROGRAMME ITSELF, I'm sorry to say that it was a master class in simply filling time. And if the cast and the writers could do so much with such a grossly limited premise, then just imagine what they could have achieved in a programme which had a decent plot!

As it was however, the series was fixated on keeping Caroline and Richard apart.

Richard marries a woman called Julia. Why? To keep the series going.

Believing that marriage is sacred, Caroline starts dating a man called Trevor. Why? To keep the series going even further.

Of course, it doesn't take long for Trevor to figure out that Caroline doesn't love him at all. That like Buffy's boyfriend Riley in BTVS, he was only there to mask all of Caroline's emotional pain and self-doubt. So in the end, the ONLY reason to own these DVD's is to see something that was two years overdue.

By the end of the last episode of this series, Trevor has left Caroline because he knew that she didn't love him. Richard has also left Julia because he realised that he didn't love her either. And at long last, finally, after three ******* years, Richard tells Caroline that he loves her and they embrace.

In the words of the woman who is standing in the lift; "It's about time!"

3.0 out of 5 stars The difficult 3rd season, 8 Jun 2007
By David A. Clarke (Chicago, IL United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I wish revelation would turn down the sound of their logo that starts each disk, I have to mute the amplifier as it's about 3 x louder than the episodes and people at the end of the street must be looking for the thunderbolt

As usual they're put the episodes onto the episiodes in production order rather than screening order, you should consult something like

[....]

To find out the proper order but personally I just watch them straight through, especially when it involves juggling disks

That said, the picture is good quality and the sound is clear the disks lack any meaningful extras, but for the price I think it's good value.
