I have the 6 volume video tape version which came out in the 1980's and to see it come to dvd is geat news for film buffs.
James Mason narrates the history of silent films made in hollywood with interviews with the directors and stars and many clips of movies that were popular at that time. If you like silent films then take a look at this great documentary!!

I watched this when it was originally made, videoed "Star Treatment" and have had to content myself with watching that one episode for the last 20 years. A high quality, fascinating documentary and about time it was released on DVD!
