3.0 out of 5 stars City Strife, 21 May 2006

Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
Now lets get this straight from the start... this game is not atall like SimCity 4. It is infact very limited in its buildings and fliudity. Yes you do build roads and they get congested so you have to upgrade them etc etc but its not the 'simple' micro-management of SimCity.
As your city develops you have to make sure you build restrictedly so that you get the right types of people living in a particular area to avoid conflict. If you build hap-hazardly and have a patch-work quilt style city make-up you will get constant riots and cultural problems. All buildings are square or rectangular so theres not flexibility there.
Basically this game is pretty standard of the tycoon drab thats come out since SimCity 4, which was the gem of the start of this decade.

1.0 out of 5 stars Just a small adaption from Sim City 4, 31 Jul 2006
By O. Fox "Social Liberal" (E. Yorkshire, England) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
The first thing to state about this game is that it has a very similar feel to the old sim city games. That is to say that you no longer zone for buildings -with the exception of the residential zones- you plant most of the commercial and industrial buildings in individual units.

The game has tried to make a sway from the sim city 4 benchmark, as it has a multi social-economic culture groups. This is a nice idea, but it just doesnt seem to work in this game as well as it should, considering this is the core of the game- to manage conflicting social-economic societies.

The most annoying point of the whole product though is the accompanying music, when you are building your city.

Coupled with this is the point that on my machine which has a Radeon 9600 card, the graphics were less than impressing than its older rival, simcity 4, and with annoying signs which are supposed to help that appear over the buildings (which actually fog the buildings)

Overall, if you have patience, have not played sim city 4 and are interested in city building games, then by all means buy this. However, if like me, you like to zone rather than plant buildings and can only tolerate bad music up to a point, then I would reccomend keeping away from this game.

1.0 out of 5 stars Overhyped and Overpriced, 2 Sep 2006
By D J Maggs "SIM-EON" (Reading, Berkshire United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
Yet another city sim that does not come close to SimCity 4. This is more about class than management. The music is more annoying than the game play. Not a game I would ever recommend to anyone. Buy SC4 and stick with it.
